As President and CEO of the company that he founded, Straub leads EVR Brands in producing health and wellness products that support cardiovascular health and promote longevity. The key ingredient, resveratrol, is the powerful antioxidant found in the skin of red wine grapes. EVR Resveratrol is offered in both bottled and powdered forms.
Although he is an entrepreneur at heart, Jonathan Straub also has experience and expertise in sales and marketing.
Jonathan sits on the board of the American Heart Association. He is involved with many of the organization’s biggest events.
Apart from his professional life and his leadership at EVR Brands, he spends his free time traveling, practicing yoga, playing tennis, running, and skiing. He is also an avid and accomplished artist, working largely on oil paintings. He holds memberships with the Barnes Foundation and the Philadelphia Museum of Art and supports individual artists.
Jonathan Straub spent more than 20 years as a Senior Sales and Marketing Executive. He has established expertise in strategic planning, creative development, brand building, general management, public relations, promotions, market research, and negotiation. The sectors in which he has led and achieved include the health and wellness industry, Internet and media advertising and marketing communications in both corporate and agency settings, and others. Straub has consistently accelerated the revenue, profit, and market share of the firms that he has worked for. He attributes such accomplishments to developing innovative strategies, pursuing business opportunities, and maintaining beneficial partnerships.
Jonathan received his education from George Washington University in Washington, DC. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1995, he also interned at the Executive Office of the President as a U.S. Trade Representative, and was awarded first prize at the Harcum College State Art Exhibition.
After graduation, Straub joined Fox Television in New York. As an Account Executive, he represented the company and its 22 television stations by selling advertising spots to advertising agencies and positioning stations within their markets. During his time at Fox, Straub sold advertising spots for the Super Bowl and the World Series.
After just two years, he became a Sales Manager at Pearson Television in New York. In this position, he created and presented sales pitches for syndicated television shows and film packages to various television stations to position each show and package for the highest potential Nielsen rating.
Jonathan Straub joined eCal Corporation, a startup vendor offering Internet-based private label calendars for Web 500. As their Director of Sales, he built the company’s advertising and business development infrastructure. He was instrumental in designing and closing major advertising and business development deals, including AT&T, Motorola, Sprint, Disney, and Reuters. Straub also raised capital for eCal Corp’s second round of financing.
Over the next six years of his career, he assumed the same role of Director of Sales for two more software companies – Simile Software and America Online, Inc., or AOL. For the two firms, Straub developed and managed online advertising sales, business development strategies, and other initiatives. For Simile Software, his work focused on the Internet, broadband, cable, and interactive television divisions. At AOL, he worked for both AOL.com and the company’s online map service, MapQuest.com.
After 12 years in New York City, Jonathan Straub moved 2 hours south to Philadelphia, PA. He created an Internet startup company and website -- DoctorsDirect.com pinpointed local doctors and medical services. As President and head of Business Development and Advertising Sales, he was a founding team member building the company’s first national website, allowing patients to book and schedule doctor’s appointments online. He built a national network of over 100,000 doctors, health insurers, health systems, and hospitals for the website. Using his sales and advertising expertise, he negotiated online advertising campaigns and sponsorships with Rite Aid, Cigna, United Healthcare, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Wal-Mart, Target, Colgate Palmolive, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, and many more.
After three years of leadership for his Internet startup, Straub founded his second company – EVR Brands, the health and wellness lifestyle brand company that he leads today. He is the company’s acting President and CEO. He developed the company’s business plan and corporate strategy and structure, raised capital for the business’s operations, negotiated financing and contracts, and conceptualized and executed the firm’s initial marketing and operations strategy. To position the brand’s products, he negotiated licensing, distribution, and partnership agreements with PepsiCo, Nestle, and United Natural Foods and contracts to sell those products at Whole Foods Market, GNC, and Amazon.com.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Straub invests his time with the American Heart Association – he has been a member of the Board for 6 years. He is heavily involved with the organization’s fundraising and charitable efforts. Jonathan Straub is also a proud member of the ASPCA and WWF (World Wildlife Fund).
