For the past three years, Douglas Foulkes has served an eclectic mix of startup companies. Douglas has worn many hats in his ventures, playing a central role in operations, marketing, and sales, but he serves primarily in the area of business development devoting countless hours to the successful cultivation of meaningful relationships with downstream, channel, and strategic partners, networking organizations, and fellow IT and entrepreneurial professionals in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. His main area of expertise lies in evaluating and creating business plans. Most importantly, he is proud to have instilled good business values in his ventures, such as always considering the triple bottom line, and ensuring lean start-up principles are followed.
As the Vice President of Business Development for CDFI, LLC. and Mazoof Inc. Douglas Foulkes managed internal projects and delegated assignments to his team with structured timelines built into a feedback system to maintain the best charted course. Rather than just following pre-conceived notions of how something should work, Douglas Foulkes understands the importance of being agile and knowing when to pivot. Working under lean circumstances, as startups often do, Douglas learned how to adapt and use technology and human resources for multifaceted purposes. Douglas thrives in a collaborative environment where there is an open flow of ideas and continual innovation.
Douglas Foulkes was graduated by Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising with a concentration in account management, during which, he navigated four fascinating internships – at Comedy Central, 93.3 WMMR radio, Harmelin Media, and the Philadelphia Board of Pensions and Retirement Investment Unit.
