In addition to her work at Overstock.com, Stormy Simon also serves on the board of directors for the YWCA, Winder Farms and the Utah Better Business Bureau. Stormy Simon is a strong supporter of several charities, including The Wounded Warrior Project and the MS Walk.
Stormy Simon took an aggressive approach to restructuring Customer Care by setting up cross-functional teams, educational programs for agents, and implementing customer relation management software to improve response times. Stormy Simon’s current responsibilities as Overstock.com’s Co-President include: Customer and Partner Care, Logistics, and all offline-marketing efforts (television, radio and print advertising, all media buys, branding, social media and public relations).
On February 21, 2013 the Overstock.com's Senior Vice President, Customer and Partner Care Stormy D. Simon was appointed as a Co-President of Overstock.com, Inc. Stormy Simon previously served as the Vice President, BMMG; Travel and Off-Line Advertising; Chief of Staff and as Overstock’s Director of B2B. Prior to joining Overstock.com, Stormy Simon worked in the media and travel industry. Ms. Stormy Simon joined Overstock in December 2001. In her first years working for Ovestock.com Stormy Simon served in a variety of critical positions, including managing each of the following departments at various times: Business-to-Business, Public Relations, Books, Music, Movies and Games, Co-op Sales, Travel, Customer Care, Partner Care, the Website, both on-line and off-line marketing (including branding), the mobile platform, social media, emerging business (auctions, cars, real estate) and the warehouse. She routinely served as the "customer's voice" and the "partners' voice" on the management team. The specific experience, qualifications, attributes or skills that led the Board to conclude that Stormy Simon should serve as a director in light of Overstock.com’s business and structure were her substantial experience managing numerous aspects of their business and her lead role in Overstock.com’s marketing and branding.
