Ryan Litfin is co-founder of an asset management firm, and is currently co-hosting a talk radio show about economic matters.
Ryan Litfin serves as a licensed alternative investment advisor. He helps his clients satisfy a variety of investment objectives which many find unable to be met through more traditional avenues. Alternative investments are generally tailored for high net-worth investors. They encompass a wide spectrum of investment vehicles.
Litfin co-founded the firm with colleague Dale Francis. The two combined their efforts yet again when they decided to co-host a radio show about economic issues. Their motto for the show is “Not just exposing the problems, but providing the solutions.” The two keep this in mind as they craft each segment of the show.
The program airs on AM1280 on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 to 5 p.m., AM1570 on Sundays at 11 a.m., and AM1130 Twin Cities News Talk on Sunday mornings from 6 to 7 a.m. Each episode seeks to provide financial advice as it relates to today’s economy in a variety of areas, such as protecting and growing your wealth and diversifying your assets.
In addition to his pursuits related to radio, Litfin also has a variety of hobbies. He is an avid motorcyclist. He also enjoys skiing, boating, and spending time outdoors.
Ryan Litfin began his journey with his college education, which he is proud to say came from Gustavus Adolphus College. He graduated in 2004 with a BA in both finance and economics.
Gustavus Adolphus takes its name from the former king of Sweden, and proudly honors its Swedish and Lutheran roots. Thanks to its Swedish origins, it is also home to the annual Nobel Conference. This event features the expertise of Nobel Laureates and other renowned scholars. Litfin was lucky enough to attend the school during the following conferences: “The Science of Aging,” “The Story of Life,” “The Nature of Nurture,” “What Is Still to Be Discovered?” and “Globalization 2000: Economic Prospects and Challenges.”
The Gustavus Adolphus economics department encourages its majors to study or work abroad. They believe it’s important that their students gain international awareness and experience. Ryan certainly benefited from the experience, having spent time in both Europe and Australia. He also studied in Chicago.
After completing his degree, he went on to work as a branch manager for Summit Mortgage Corporation. This company was started in 1992 by Robert and Diana Carter. Their goal was to create a mortgage company that operated from a loan officer’s point of view.
Summit Mortgage is headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota. It currently employs over 200 professionals in over 40 branch offices, operating in 17 states. Branch managers have a personal role in the loan process, including personal communication with both management and support teams. Summit is extremely dedicated to its focus on clients, as well.
As a branch manager for Summit Mortgage, Ryan Litfin acquired a number of skills. He was expected to have excellent computer skills. He honed his communication, decision-making, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities while working at Summit. He worked at the Eden Prairie branch for five years, before beginning work as a financial consultant in 2010. He also began attending the Institute for Financial Markets during that year.
The Institute for Financial Markets, or IFM, educates industry professionals on the financial industry’s National Commodity Futures Examination. This is a regulatory proficiency exam that is required of all individuals who conduct business on U.S. futures exchanges. It is also required of anyone who offers or solicits business in futures, or options on futures for a futures commission merchant, including broker, commodity trading advisor, or commodity pool operator. Anyone who supervises salespersons, individuals, or firms must also take the exam.
People who are equipped to pass the National Commodity Futures Exam, otherwise known as the Series 3 exam, will examine the uses of futures markets. They will compare and contrast futures to other instruments, and understand trading theory, basic functions, and terminology. They will compare futures and options as risk management tools, and understand options nomenclature including premiums, exercise, assignment, and settlement.
The Series 3 exam requires that you identify the principles of hedging and cash-futures price relationships. You must also understand portfolio management strategies, using various futures and options products. Ryan Litfin passed the exam, which is a prerequisite to becoming a Series 3 Licensed Managed Futures and Commodity Advisor. He studied at the IFM in Chicago under Kevin Baldwin.
During this time Ryan also offered himself as a consultant for Select Senior Living, LLC. It and its affiliated companies are engaged in the acquisition of parcels of land, procurement of required government entitlements, installation of land improvements and overseeing the construction of independent living, assisted living and memory care facilities in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
After his time at Select Senior Living, Litfin joined forces with Dale Francis to create Vincent Asset Management. VAM is a modern-day asset management and investment advisory firm. It specializes in the global financial markets, helping its clients manage opportunities and risk.
Vincent Asset Management believes that both clients and their money managers should seek out the “subtle harmony” that exists within the price structure of all markets. Simultaneously, they should attempt to mitigate the challenges that are involved in the free market. Quantitative money managers, according to Vincent Asset Management, should utilize computer models to scan global price data in order to capitalize on these patterns.
Vincent Asset Management also specializes in retirement planning, including 401k and IRA rollover. In addition, they provide various investment plans for clients’ specific needs. They help structure custom portfolios from a vast number of options.
VAM also helps investment advisors expand their business. They provide investment advisors with education, client support and back office, research, and access and compliance. They offer financial advisors the chance to set themselves apart from the competition.Teaming up with VAM allows them to offer their clients alternative investment strategies.

With Vincent Asset Management, Litfin has created a business that he believes makes a positive impact on the world. He also airs a radio show on many different stations to advise listeners on all kinds of financial and economical issues. Ryan Litfin and Dale Francis created the show in an effort to spread their beliefs as it relates to today’s economy.
The newest project for Ryan Litfin and Vincent Asset Management is a planned series of seminars and webinars, given on an ongoing basis. These will take the form of lunch or dinner seminars and private consultations. They are free, and will provide a variety of information to attendees, including diversification techniques, alternative investment strategies, and the Nobel Prize-winning Modern Portfolio Theory.
The future holds many exciting prospects for Vincent Asset Management. The asset management and advisory firm will continue to navigate the ever-changing investment landscape.
Ryan Litfin will be on board as Vincent Asset Management forges on toward the future. His influence started the company, and it will continue to contribute to its development.
