Why would you want to work here Capitol Debate has too many cons to mention. I know that sounds exaggerated but having worked there for multiple years and multiple camps I have seen it all. Camps with no nurses, camps with rotten food, camps without adequate classroom facilities, camps without adequate air conditioning or activities planning. Capitol Debate is one of those places there no one is in charge but everything is your fault. The staff will use the anonymous reporting system for the most petty things. The management will play obvious favorites because they are inexperienced or simply lack people skills. Assuming you are worth your salt, you will do what you can to bail water because you want to keep the job, you feel a sense of responsibility to the students, and because you keep hoping it'll get better. If you are that kind of person it speaks well of you, and you deserve better than Capitol Debate. They will underpay you, overwork you, and treat you like garbage. If you are currently working for Capitol Debate and you are reading this you have my sympathies; the only thing I can say to you is you will survive. If you are thinking about working for Capitol Debate do yourself a favor and don't. If you are a recent HS graduate, or a current college student, do yourself a favor and get a job at like a Walmart. You'll make more money, have better hours, and you won't have to pay for your own airfare. Walmart also won't lie to you and say they're paying you $500 net per week when they mean $500 gross, and if you don't understand the difference capdeb will have a shiny new t-shirt waiting for you upon your arrival.
