This place will suck your soul dry This is a TOXIC place to work. During my first month there, I came into work with so much positivity and excitement. Everyone in my department told me to enjoy the honeymoon phase while it lasted, because it will eventually die along with your soul. They were right. Very quickly, I learned that people will throw away good ideas and replace them with half-baked, uncreative, uninspiring, and illogical ones. All that matters is what keeps the donors happy -- even if that means sacrificing good work. There is not room for growth here unless you have a political in (i.e. your parents donated a lot of money to the organization). Favoritism runs rampant here. If you're not a part of the VIP club, don't expect to get ahead. This place can be as catty as an animal shelter. Expect to get clawed. Oh -- and if you're female, there is a chance that your male boss may favor their male counterparts and tell you to wear more dresses. During COVID-19, many people were furloughed... and then over 12 people were laid off less than 2 months later. The reason? They said they needed to save money, because there were not enough donations coming in. A DAY after the layoffs were official, the company announced to its entire constituency (over 65,000 people via a mass email marketing campaign) that they have an addition of $6.2 million in funding for their programs. Within the next couple of weeks of the announcement, many people within the company were also promoted. Everyone who was laid off was very hurt... and who can blame them? In conclusion, there are better non-profits and Jewish organizations to work at. Please do yourself a favor and don't even apply to a job here. It's not worth it.
