Poisonous environment Everything else. This is the most poisonous environment I have ever worked in. I found the senior management to be vicious bullies, who thrived on belittling, insulting and ridiculing the staff. The company has a revolving door - people are fired left and right, seemingly on the whims of the local management. The objectives are never clear - for me, my targets changed on an almost monthly basis. and despite overachieving on all the different KPI's and targets, a chance to be promoted was never forthcoming. Instead, we were told we weren't good enough. Fights, threats and physical violence were daily occurrences - at one point, one employee came after me with a corkscrew. He did not lose his job. You're constantly on the edge, wondering next time a manager says "Have you got a minute?" if it's your turn to be sacked. During the almost 2 years I spent with the company, not one single woman was ever hired, and the chauvinism and sexism was like something from the stone-age. But, above all, the bullying and belittling of staff was the main reason I left. Being publicly ridiculed on a constant basis by the senior management, and having that attitude spreading throughout the "team" became too much.
