Non supportive, poor project managers Disorganized administration and project distribution: it is very difficult to get onto the projects that most interest you, making HR&A a prestigious name on the CV but not necessarily a place that guarantees a way to specifically shape your career path. -Project Managers are not trained managers: Project timelines are unpredictable, expectations consistently vague and ever-changing. The quality of the work greatly suffers. Project managers do not treat analytical staff with respect and professionalism. -Not an environment that supports new learning: project workloads are not only time intensive but managed sporadically such that analytical staff have little to no time to learn new programs, systems, or methodologies in any kind of proficient way - efficiency and speed consistently trumps quality on project work. -Work life balance is not valued: Weekend working and late nights are commonplace. There is not a great system of compensation/ respect from project managers/project opportunity to feel the desire to work through the hard environment.
