He tries valiantly to mutate his rudimentary business into an actual manufacturing facility but does not possess the knowledge, patience, or staff to accomplish his goal. His time is wasted by trying to micromanage his plants causing division between the operations employees and the plant management team. The Supervisory team labors under the delusion that they have personal relationships with Mr. Caldwell. The result is an elitist attitude that is conveyed to the hourly workers. The consequence is a poor work environment, deficient safety program, and prison-like culture. His inexperience is only eclipsed by his arrogance and inability to stop sabotaging his own business.
