Micromanagement in an unfriendly environment Do *NOT* accept a position here if you like to be treated humanely. The office manager (the company CTO) cannot even manage to smile as he wanders in late and if you have the temerity to greet him with a ?good morning.? He rarely offers a word of gratitude or encouragement if you do a good job, but he is quick and abundant with the criticism. You will likely be an hourly employee; no exempt/salary compensation. It?s just a step above working retail. Your time is tracked to the minute. You must punch in on the computer timeclock, with each morning start time entered with precision. Your morning break must be 10 minutes on the nose, you cannot take eight or nine minutes. The online timeclock will force you to take the full 10 minutes. But if you are over by a minute or two, you *WILL* be docked pay. Docked for a minute here or a minute there. Seriously. The same goes for lunch (must be 30 minutes) and the 10-minute afternoon break. If at the end of the day you clock out a few minutes after your shift end you will not be paid for it; the online timeclock will force your logout time. If you prefer to be treated as a professional and an adult, this is not the place for you. Most of my colleagues were unhappy. Free coffee and snacks are supposed to make you feel better about being there. The pay is ridiculously inferior for the type of work you will be doing however the senior leadership are all related (as in family members) and they do quite well financially. Potential employees ? even those with experience -- can expect to earn only a few dollars an hour more than minimum wage. This is even though the product is complex and challenging to learn. Certain managers (particularly one director related to the CTO) can be rude, demanding, bullying and abusive. Paid time off is minimal; no vacation is offered in the first year. For the stress and anxiety this company and its environment engenders you should be paid *AT LEAST* twice what they offer. If you value your happiness and sanity, don?t bother interviewing here. The office is lacking in collaboration and camaraderie. The pay is insufficient, micromanagement is the norm, there is no clear career growth or advancement path, and the place itself is bleak and unfriendly. *RUN* from this place as fast as you can.
