Incredible Letdown Management changes policies almost weekly. Hard to keep up. Monthly goals increased every month I was there, and with them, the pressure to achieve the raised goals. They claim they do not micromanage, and that is not true. Unless you are one of their 3 top performers, you will be harassed daily. You will not be paid for overtime, but they will allow, and encourage, you to work for free at home in the evenings and weekends because it really shows your "dedication" to the company. You will never receive a raise in hourly wage. As a claims recovery specialist, you will be told that because your bonus potential (which they call commission) is so high (but only if you hit their crazy high goals) that they don't offer hourly rate increases. Unless you are one of their 3 top performers consistently. I was informed of that coming up on my year anniversary. They will give you a yearly review, sure, but there will be no raise in your future. Vacation time is a joke. They offer it, but it is hard to get approved, especially if your days off fall at the end of the month, and they will take your entire workload and give it to another agent for keeps while you are gone. They might allow you to keep a few claims on the condition that you work them while on vacation (without pay of course). So there's no real vacation. You will come back from vacation with very few claims remaining, and yet still be expected to somehow reach your ridiculously high monthly goal. If you do not hit your goal for 2 months (keep in mind this monthly goal is a hairsbreadth from $200K) you will be harassed beyond your wildest dreams. You will be told repeatedly that you are in trouble, that management talks about you in all their meetings and not in a good way, they will begin to micromanage every moment of your day with constant "updates" about where they think you are, and you will be threatened with termination. The termination threat comes verbally, in your meetings, and then you will be forced to sign an agreement which states you can be terminated if you do not reach goal this month. While they are making you sign it, they will tell you over and over that this does not classify as "intimidation" but rather "motivation". I kid you not, that is exactly what I was told. They seem very nervous about someone calling it an intimidation tactic, which it is. It is the most stressful situation I have ever been involved in at a place of employment. I finally quit when I realized it had been 3 weeks since I had slept more than 4 hours a night, just laying awake, terrified that tomorrow would be the day I got fired. I worked about 50 hours a week and was only paid for 40, I worked on my vacation, I worked at home on the weekends, and when I complained that I didn't have enough claims to make goal, was basically told to figure it out and make goal somehow, and threatened with termination if I didn't. Turn over is quite high amongst claims specialists. You basically get yelled at by people all day long and then management adds to the stress. Most new agents don't even last a month before they quit. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
