if I could submit 0 stars I would: stay far away horrendous animal quality of life and animal care - both upper and lower level management unprofessional: cliquey, rude, unwilling to listen to keepers' concerns, always plays favorites - hostile and toxic team dynamics in every animal care department (mammals, birds, herps etc) - morale is profoundly low and management does nothing to fix it - animal management practices retrogressive and incompatible with current husbandry and welfare practices - high profile animal deaths actively hidden from the public if you are an entirely green keeper this place will hire you and you can get your two years of paid AZA experience to move on to somewhere else, but be careful: this zoo specifically hires inexperienced keepers that do not know any better and become complicit in their unethical animal husbandry practices. Take care to ensure you do not internalize any of the bad practices implemented here.
