Decent starting off place for new RNs. Veterans say don't stay too long High turnover rate for floor nurses and nursing management -Ancient EMR that is not intuitive to use and crashes many times in one shift or constantly if your patient has been admitted for more than a month -Always finding broken equipment - SCDs, IV pumps, WOW battery charger, beds -Some house supervisors push and move patients around at a machine gun pace -Significant culture and language barrier if you're not raised with and speak Vietnamese, Chinese, or Cantonese -Toxic parts of nursing culture (older nurses chewing up the young) very much present -Poor communication from management to floor staff of policy changes and expectations; often times just given piece of paper to sign -Some doctors are extremely toxic and verbally abuse and degrade nurses in front of coworkers, patients and visitors -Short staffing and excessive usage of registry and floating, sometimes most senior RN on unit has <5 years experience
