Promise more than they can deliver Whatever positive reviews reflect a time before the company started to nose dive. The company scaled up way too quickly and over-promised because they expected huge growth. Clients disappeared and instead of being honest about the negative outlook, they strung along freelancers. Afraid of losing talent them to other companies, but unwilling or unable to pay them hours were cut down and no notice was given. They sugarcoated these unpaid days as "take a day off!" Day by day wonderful people dropped like flies. Fleeing the scene or being let go unceremoniously (ghosted by management). Now all that remains is a skeleton crew unable to find other work during covid.
