Not a place for young PR pros to grow, master their craft or enjoy the profession. At Jaffe Communications, you're told that you're coming into a firm that's on the ground floor of something big. You're promised a career and if you work hard enough, a very successful one. What decision-makers fail to disclose is that the starting salary sits at 26k, raises are few and far between and you'll be thrown to the wolves one week into the job. There's also little to no room for growth, at all, unless you bring clients with you. Anyone in the PR industry understands that credibility takes time. At Jaffe, they hide behind the "what are you doing to secure your own clients" excuse. Some clients are great, others not so much. There's also very little room for creativity, it's pretty much assembly line PR. I can say that my time at Jaffe was wasted and I felt like I was behind the eight-ball once I left for greener pastures. Other cons: Company culture is non-existent. Lack of structure. You're an AE, SAE and supervisor all in one, but get paid well below a JAE. Work hours are your industry norm: 9-6. But you'll have to attend meetings after hours and not get paid for going or credited with comp time.
