No Longer A Great Place To Work If you come to work here for any length of time, chances are you'll end up developing a form of stockholm syndrome. You'll be overworked, beaten down, and made to feel like less than, all while a select few "pets" cherry picked by exec-level leadership preach about how *GREAT* it is to work there. Ultimately, you'll end up distrusting not only your own value and skill level as a professional, but your grip on your ability to accurately assess whether a relationship (with your employer) is truly abusive or not. They regularly have made/still make employees who raise flags about morale and other work condition issues out to be the problems themselves, insisting there is no actual morale/culture problem, and then punishing whistle blowers by denying/ignoring PTO requests, placing them on baseless performance improvement plans, etc. It's all tactics to beat an employee into silence and submission. The days of a great start up/corporate hybrid culture are long gone -- as are those who championed it and tried to hang on to it for as long as they could -- as the C-Suite has become more and more aggressive in their campaign to stamp out any remnants of the Storyful days of old. Several former employees have changed fields altogether after leaving the company (whether of their own volition or as a result of "restructuring" - i.e. they wouldn't drink the koolaid and fall immediately into lockstep with whatever the C-Suite wanted) because of the scars and self-doubt created by this company. In addition, the company is continuing to hemorrhage talent and chooses not to nurture the hard workers they still have left (almost all of whom are actively looking for employment elsewhere as a result). They've rebranded/changed direction multiple times throughout the past several years, and still can't seem to find a winning or successful formula to propel the business forward. I would never come back to work here, or recommend it to a friend, and that's assuming that they're even still in business in 1-2 year's time (which I doubt they will be).
