Great books, horrible pay The pay is terrible, possibly the worst in an industry known for paying very little to begin with. The management doesn't seem to care very much for the lower-level employees and treats them like replaceable cogs. For that reason, most junior employees are unhappy working there and spend at least a few minutes every day looking on mediabistro for other publishing jobs.
