A Problematic Workplace I worked at Bogen for 5+ years. My best day was my last day at the company. The atmosphere was cut-throat. Morale was usually very bad and employees were so stressed, unhappy, and unmotivated that they resorted to undercutting fellow coworkers not so that they could get ahead but just to keep their miserable jobs. Cliques thrive in this place, CYA is the daily norm, and those who are incompetent (and there are quite a few) are in management positions constantly deriding their staff and fellow managers, thinking that by making them look bad they will look good. But truly good managers know that you own up to your mistakes, learn from them, and forge ahead better than before...and you build up and support your staff. Unfortunately, the few good managers were all dismissed when the company followed one of its poor manager?s decisions to split the company up as a last resort in trying to aid an already failing company to save money; instead the move has turned out to be more costly than anticipated (what do you expect from incompetent managers) and things are looking more grim than ever before. And with all the bloodletting of knowledgeable, experienced staff, the newbies are left lost, afraid, and unaware. Worse yet, executive management has been at the helm for decades and consistently cutting back money and resources so that the company scrambles not to lose more than a certain percentage every year instead of trying to grow the company.
