Undervalued, Underpaid and Overworked Front-Line Staff I wish I listened to the negative reviews here on Glassdoor before taking my position, as they are worth taking seriously. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a huge divide between senior leadership/directors and the front-line staff at the manager level. The CPO has been known to blow up at and embarrass low-level employees in meetings in front of everybody, the CFO does not respond to you in the hallway when you say hello, and the ED, while lovable, does not seem to understand what is actually happening in the organization. The turnover rate is very high (there are plenty of farewell happy hours if that is your thing) - you will meet amazing coworkers but unfortunately over half of them will be gone within your first year. Some teams have fantastic officers (direct supervisors of the managers), but the directors are generally unsupportive and seem to care more about kissing up to their own bosses than empowering and managing their own staff. One team had every single manager quit at the same time, which should obviously raise some eyebrows. As mentioned elsewhere, misogyny is real at this organization, and people of color are not represented at the top levels. which get whiter and more male the higher up you go. The organization is making moves to shift the culture to a more positive place - to their credit they do recognize how toxic it is - and I sincerely hope things will move in a more positive direction. If you are considering a job, please think it through, and ask those interviewing you about these negative Glassdoor reviews. If, however, they offer you a living wage and you find there are not many other openings listed (indicating that, perhaps, the turnover rate has gone down), then go ahead and accept that offer ? the culture indeed has shifted. Or if you want to make some incredible, fun, civic minded friends in your manager coworkers then take the job for a bit? you can always leave after less than a year as many do. But if you have doubts, then it might be worth taking your talent, and your sanity, to a more deserving organization.
