Toxic work environment "Teams" don't feel like teams, they felt like authoritarian hierarchies, which was extremely demoralizing. Sometimes, people were just mean and rude - terribly unprofessional. -There were serious issues with overtime pay, or lack thereof. There were heavy workloads that could not be completed in the 40-hour work week, so overtime was required for lower-level, non-exempt employees. However, management would give us a hard time whenever we did work overtime because they didn't want to pay us. This issue could have been fixed if they hired an appropriate number of people for the work, but it seemed as if management didn't want to hire additional employees out of fear that business would decrease and they would have extra employees and/or they didn't want to pay for benefits for an additional employee. -The absurd amount of time spent reviewing and editing work products, for either internal or client purposes, was unnecessary and caused terrible inefficiencies. There was zero trust in lower level employees, regardless of their abilities or work product. -I could go on....
