The worst place I have ever worked; avoid at all costs Sanky prides itself as being an organization that does great work, but that same sentiment isn't passed onto staff. I worked extremely long hours for a non-competitive pay (I received paychecks under $1,000), and virtually no vacation days. During my tenure, there was an effort to increase vacation days, but that didn't offset the cost of decent healthcare (deductibles for individuals went as high as $6,350). I constantly felt forced to lie about my workload and take on more than I could chew. The VP of Accounts also took pleasure in hiring her inept friends for senior level positions who tended to quit. There was an immense amount of control also stemming from senior management - if you told them you were overwhelmed or didn't want to attend an event, you were forced to do so anyway. Anniversaries are celebrated starting at 3 years with the company as the majority don't make it that long. Morale boosting events have to be conducted by lower level employees to actually occur - besides funding, there is rarely support from senior management. Lower level employees are treated as disposable yet essential - you won't be allowed any work from home days (while your boss gets four a month), but you're needed to set up emails, proof direct mail inserts and buckslips, and more. There is extremely high turnover - particularly on the accounts team. Due to this, there is very little historical information that is passed down and clients end up resentful as they're passed around like hot cakes. Because of this, there are a number of clients who do not return (particularly on the direct mail side) which then puts the company in a tight financial position (which they will not tell you - you'll just find out certain people receive raises while you does not, solely to save the company money).
