Surprised they're still in business Management is greedy and deluded. The company is designed to retain a select few high-level employees, while churning through low-paid new-hires fresh out of college until they burn out and quit or get fired. Most of these employees only stay so long because they don't have an outside perspective on how poorly they're actually being treated. The director who manages the majority of employees on the support and professional services teams is very shrewd, to his credit, and knows how to talk down people's accomplishments while emphasizing their drawbacks. This makes compensation negotiations with him difficult. Professional services teams are almost always behind on their schedule because higher-ups set unreasonable deadlines with clients, leading to constant client dissatisfaction. The support team is simultaneously heralded as both the A-team,supporting any and all production issues a client may have, and a training ground/punishment where new or under-performing employees are sent to sink or swim. The manager of the support team also changes frequently, as upper management is never happy with that role's inability to fix the impossible situation. The onboarding process for new employees is very poor, typically an outdated guide on OIM/OAM that the new-hire works on with little oversight, and questions are discouraged. This leads to much time-waste on already-solved problems. However, this is probably due to too much already being on the plates of team leads, but the net result is undereducated employees joining the professional services teams in 4-6 weeks. Ultimately, this company is penny-wise and pound-foolish, and they don't hold their employees in high regard. They're cheap on compensation, and only offer free snacks and Christmas dinners to try to keep people just happy enough that they dont leave. They bid low on everything, and push the cost onto their already overworked employees. Morale is typically low and good employees leave while bad employees stay until they're fired.
