Marvin Shanken

One of the worst places I have ever worked Where do I start? Marvin Shanken is a horrible, horrible CEO and human being. He treats his underlings like crap, especially if they are women. The people take it as many of them, while nice, are not talented enough to get a senior-level job at another company so easily. He is verbally abusive to everyone who is not his family (I believe all three of his daughters work there). The things I have overheard him say would blow your mind. And he gets away with it, cause he's Marvin and such an iconoclast! Such a maverick! Such a trendsetter! BLECHH! Some others have mentioned sexual harassment and it is RAMPANT here. I was a victim of it. And as there is no formal HR dept and even if there was, I doubt they would ever side with me, I had to take this abuse for years. It whittled at my confidence and ability to do my job well. He constantly made comments about my body and my co-workers' bodies and thinks they were compliments. Metoo needs to get on this place stat. The pay is crap unless you are part of old Marvin's boys' club. Raises are a pittance and nonexistent. They are based on if Marvin likes you or not. If he doesn't, pffft, you don't even get a cost of living increase. It's that brutal.
