Hilariously bad management decisions In my experience, Institutional Investor is not a very good company to work for. It can be fun if you can maintain a sense of distance, because senior management often makes hilariously bad decisions. But sadly it?s often hard to laugh when those bad decisions affect you. They?ll claim they have no money or resources to improve their products, then in the next breath will tell you they have a lot of cash lying around and are looking to make acquisitions. They sometimes even acquire products that are remarkably similar to their existing products. If you talk a lot of nonsense and kiss up to the right people you can probably get pretty far, but only if you work in sales/marketing or an editorial department. Employees who work in areas like technology get zero recognition because management simply does not understand what they do. When I left, there were more people with the title ?Head of Development? then there were full time developers. The heads of technology were all project managers. II also has a habit of not only ignoring claims of sexual harassment, but of actively promoting the people accused. Would not recommend. Management needs to look at the current environment and figure out how to properly allocate resources and money.
