Hands Down the Worst Place I've Ever Worked I'm not sure what people are referring to when they say pay is great because the pay is definitely at the lowest end of the industry spectrum* I made significantly more in the same role at an even smaller company after leaving here. The CEO. There are no words to describe how toxic this man is. He has a god complex and believes that everyone owes him something because he writes your paycheck. That toxicity also leaks into the workplace on a regular basis.The microaggressions I experienced here seriously impacted my mental health. There were many times where I felt like there was a racial undertone to everything from my being hired in the first place to reactions when I shared an opinion or clarified misunderstandings. It was uncomfortable. I took on a more work and while I appreciated the learning experience there was zero support from the CEO. I'm talking "rescheduling my meetings with him until they just never happened" lack of support. You will be thrown under the bus REPEATEDLY here. If you tell him something needs to be done and he doesn't do it and then a client asks why it's not done he will say "[INSERT YOUR NAME HERE] never told me" If a mistake is made by him or because he didn't do due diligence he will say [Oh, this was [INSERT YOUR NAME HERE]'s responsibility and he/she obviously dropped the ball." It's pitiful and even worse when its done to people who don't work there and can't defend themselves.Depending on who you are this might not be a flaw but to me it's highly immoral. He lies to clients on a regular basis. He will say "oh we pitched this story and it got no pick up" when in reality he just didn't like the topic/story etc. and told his team not to do anything with it. He will also self-publish pieces on websites and claim a reporter agreed to write the story. It's lame and lazy PR.He has zero respect for himself or employees i.e. he fired someone while screaming at the top of his lungs "you should be F**KING thanking me" (this is also just blatantly unprofessional) He's unprofessional and cannot separate his personal feelings from business. So if his feelings are hurt expect a sh*t storm that is unavoidable as there is no HR person to let him know he's crossed every line in the book.
