Do not EVER intern here I interned for ATC in the Spring of 2018. Everything else- you?re basically working full time for them and all you get is a monthly Metrocard. Intern program is extremely disorganized, while I learned a couple things here and there and met a lot of industry people, more than half of my time was spent doing tedious ?busy work? simply because they ran out of things for me to do. The few things I learned absolutely did NOT justify this rampant waste of time- especially because none of the interns are getting paid I got the impression that my supervisors were acting as if MY time wasn?t valuable. There were so many days when there wasn?t anything for me to do, I would rather they just tell me to stay home or leave early. But no, that almost never happened. Honestly, if the entire time was spent just learning about my field I wouldn?t have been so upset at not getting paid, but so much time was spent doing menial tasks and errands - and they tried to sugarcoat it by saying that ?no task is too little?. Yeah, like that changes everything. You don?t have the money to pay your interns and to add insult to injury you don?t even have the time and resources to teach your interns - why even have an internship program? It?s literally free labor at this point. It?s bordering on- no it is criminal. If there?s one thing I learned from this internship- know your worth. I will never work for free ever again. Please, unless you?re absolutely desperate to work here and you can afford to work in NYC for 3-4 months for free, don?t do it.
