Awful culture, bad management, firm is bound to fail. Not worth it. Everybody else is awful. John, the main partner, is perpetually absent and has no idea what the conditions of the office are. This is a problem, because the office is often too loud to concentrate or blazing hot, up to 80 degrees. When John does come in, it is comical to watch him have to deal with this. Otherwise you don't work with him at all, unless he asks you to book some flights for his vacations. The other partner, Matt, is absolutely awful to work with. He gives unclear direction for unfamiliar tasks and expects perfect results. He DOES NOT CARE about your life or schedule. He works about 15 hours a day, and you will be on HIS time. If he wants a letter to the court submitted that day by 2 AM, then that's what you'll have to do, even if the letter is not timely whatsoever. He makes you do whatever he wants with no regard for anybody else's personal life. It speaks to John's poor judgement that Matt was promoted to partner. All HR, tech, and other administrative/management tasks fall under the purview of Marc. He is nice enough, but completely inaccessible and oppressively particular. Don't, for example, cough in front of Marc. He won't like that. Karen is wonderful. A pleasure to work with. Kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and helpful. Thank you, Karen!!! Career opportunities are non-existent. This firm is going nowhere, and has no pull on a resume. The pay isn't enough. No bonuses. No dental on the health plan. Vacation days are also relatively good, but they won't really be vacation days most of the time. You will still get work on them.
