Before Maria Pekurovskaya received her notable job promotion to serve as the executive vice president of Universal Pictures, she worked as a freelance copywriter. From 1996 until 1998, her freelance copywriting position gave her the chance to work on successful film campaigns such as As Good as it Gets, Men in Black, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Armageddon and Godzilla. After managing herself as a successful freelance copywriter, Pekurovskaya moved on to a new position.
From 1998 until 2002, Maria Pekurovskaya worked as a producer/ writer for The Ant Farm. The Ant Farm is an agency that focuses on movie advertising. She said that her experience at The Ant Farm was very challenging, eye opening and meaningful. While working for the company, she became a key member that gained a reputation as an individual who was quite successful when focusing on difficult movies. She was known for being relentless, hard working and prolific. During her time working with The Ant Farm, she worked on popular films including titles such as Antz, Traffic, Chicago and Legally Blonde.
The Ant Farm was, and still is, a leading entertainment advertising agency. Just this year, the company was named Agency of the Year at the 2013 Game Marketing Awards.
