Travis Biggert is a husband and father of two. Professionally, he works as a Risk Consultant in the Hub International Healthcare Practice Group. He has 14 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry and have worked with a broad spectrum of clients, both domestically and internationally.
Travis Biggert holds a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and will complete my Certified Risk Manager (CRM) in 2014 from The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research in Austin, TX.
He is also a supporter of local charitable organizations. The Pierce Philips Charity, which primarily funds childhood cancer research, is one that is especially near to his heart. Additionally, he continues to use his industry experience to reduce claims costs for the Gatesway Foundation, an organization that helps developmentally disabled individuals become more independent. He came onto the foundation’s board of trustees in 2008 and has served in multiple capacities, the most notable of which on the insurance committee where he implemented a cutting-edge claims management strategy alongside Emerge Diagnostics that reduced claims costs by over 60%.
Throughout his career, Travis Biggert has proved himself to be an avid insurance professional. He joined HUB International in the summer of 2013 and has already made major contributions to the company via his engagement of strategic partnerships.
Travis points out that HUB International is a result of an 11-part merger (all privately held Canadian brokerages) in 1998. Today, the company is one of the largest insurance brokers in the world. It has built more than 250 satellite offices, which allows the professionals within the organization to take advantage of its global reach and still work directly for their communities.
Travis Biggert says the company offers a wide variety of services in niche industries. It has tailored programs for healthcare, the oil and gas industry, pest control, law firms, manufacturing plants, museums, textiles, aviation, embassies, and several others. It was also ranked number one in revenue by the Insurance Journal in 2013, compared to 100 other privately held property/casualty agencies based in the U.S.
He became a senior risk consultant in the Healthcare and Risk Management Practice for HUB in June of 2013. His team handles all aspects of commercial insurance, including professional and general liability, property, management liability, and cyber liability.
Prior to HUB, Biggert was the senior vice president of Global Risk and Insurance for Nueterra Healthcare. While there, he was responsible for designing and executing all insurance risk management activities within their global group of companies. This included more than 100 managed hospitals, surgery, and PT centers, totaling almost $1 billion in insured limits. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Nueterra is an international healthcare management company. While there, he developed multimillion dollar cost allocation models, implemented a medical malpractice buying groups for their 2,000 physician partners, worked within their mergers and acquisitions team and oversaw numerous other aspects of risk for the company.
He began his career at a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based organization, the David Bryant Agency, as an insurance and financial services specialist. In this position, Travis handled sales and marketing for a wide range of insurance and financial services products. After five years with this agency he took a position with International Insurance Brokers, LTD. While there, he specialized in offering solutions to larger, middle market clients and was promoted from producer to team leader within 12 months.
Travis Biggert sees a lot of potential in the future of healthcare and a rising need for effective means of risk management. He is most looking forward to expanding partnerships with a number of organizations, including the ArcLight Group, UPAL, and HIPAA Risk Management. These companies and others will work alongside HUB International to increase its national presence and help evolve risk management practices for their collective clients. Personally, Biggert wants to continue building strategic partnerships and expand services for clients so that they can focus on their core businesses without concern for existing and emerging risks.
His experience with Enterprise Risk Management allows him to asses a company’s potential risks and identify strategies to effectively control and finance those risks. This ability has led him to where he is today. More than anything else, Travis is interested to see how healthcare evolves in the United States. Travis Biggert has one goal: To help organizations drive efficiency through innovative risk management plans, something he has honed well throughout his career.
