With the help of her rich history and experience in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Leslie Tidwell is committed to providing superior care to each patient she treats. She offers her patients a full range of OBGYN services to help them determine their present conditions, develop tailored treatment plans, and provide them with the support and education they need to make the best decisions for their futures.
Dr. Tidwell is committed to following research and advancements regarding the female reproductive system and is dedicated to helping women cope with and move past problems that are stemming from their internal systems. To achieve such success, Dr. Tidwell works diligently to connect with her patients on a personal level. She understands that the relationship between a doctor and a patient is highly sensitive, and she emphasizes clear and helpful communication and support to lift up her patients and help them achieve better health and wellness.
Despite having worked at many different healthcare facilities, many of Dr. Tidwell’s patients have followed her. The relationships she cultivates with her patients are meaningful, and she ensures that each one receives the care they need. In turn, her patients value her work so much that they have moved their business from one healthcare facility to another, just to continue being treated under her care.
In addition to being a respected physician, Dr. Leslie Tidwell is also a loving mother of two children. She relishes spending time with them and acting as a strong role model for them to follow. As a doctor, she is compelled to teach her children how to be strong, how to help others in need, and how to make the best choices for their individual situations.
Dr. Leslie Tidwell has developed a long track record of experience and success in her field. Her education, hands-on training, and contributions to medical facilities have helped her hone her expertise and provide superior care for the patients she sees. She has also earned and maintained many professional certifications and licenses, including being board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and holding both a medical license in Georgia and a DEA license.
Furthermore, she has joined various professional organizations to ensure that she stays up to date on the most current advancements in her field. She has been active in the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of Georgia, and joined the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as a fellow. These associations have helped her understand the changes in her field and provide her patients with the most cutting-edge care and techniques, resulting in efficient and effective care for their individualized needs.
Prior to joining the medical field as a certified medical doctor, Dr. Leslie Tidwell attended Spelman College, located in Atlanta, Georgia. From 1986 to 1990, she worked toward her bachelor’s degree. During this time, she also studied abroad in Colchester, England, at the University of Essex. In 1990, she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Immediately after graduating, Leslie began studying at Southern Illinois University. Here, she completed her Medical/Dental Education Preparatory Program. In 1992, she then began studying at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 1996, she graduated as a doctor of medicine.
Immediately after graduation, Dr. Leslie Tidwell joined the Mercer University School of Medicine to continue her experience as an intern in obstetrics and gynecology. Upon completing her internship, she continued at Mercer University as a resident in obstetrics and gynecology. In 1999, she became a chief resident at Mercer University School of Medicine where she greatly expanded her skills and hands-on experience. In June of 2000, she completed her residency and was ready to enter the field on her own.
From 2000 to 2007, she worked at a private practice in Warner Robins, Georgia. At Women’s Healthcare of Central Georgia, Dr. Tidwell provided extensive, full-spectrum services for her OBGYN patients. She and her colleagues offered patients dilation and curettage services, 3-D and 4-D OBGYN ultrasounds, menstrual disorder care, in-office Essure permanent birth control, pelvic floor support procedures, and a great number of other services to enhance patient health.
After leaving this practice, Dr. Leslie Tidwell had the opportunity to work with another private practice, located in Macon, Georgia. Here, at Central Georgia Gynecology, Leslie supported the facility’s OBGYN healthcare services and provided superior, personalized care to her patients. She has always prided herself on delivering the most meaningful care and developing strong relationships with her patients.
In 2009, she took on a new role, delivering high-quality OBGYN services to patients at the Vidalia Women’s Center, located in Vidalia, Georgia. This facility was built upon the belief that physicians should provide cutting-edge medicine and services with a personal touch. As cultivating relationships has continually been one of Dr. Tidwell’s many strengths, she was able to tap into her nurturing nature and provide care in alignment with the facility’s vision.
After a year of providing prompt, efficient, and comprehensive care at Vidalia Women’s Center, Leslie left the facility to pursue another opportunity to help patients. She returned to Women’s Healthcare of Central Georgia, where she worked from 2010 to 2011. In this role, she continued to oversee individualized treatment plans, work one-on-one with patients, and provide her many patients with the OBGYN care they needed.
During this time, Dr. Leslie Tidwell also provided support to the Tifton Women’s Center in Tifton, Georgia. Her locum tenens position helped her ensure quality patient care while the facility was seeking a permanent candidate.
After leaving her roles at the Tifton Women’s Center and Women’s Healthcare of Central Georgia, she offered her services and support to Cornerstone Ob/Gyn in Warner Robins, Georgia. She remained here from 2012 to 2013.
In 2014, Dr. Tidwell accepted another locum tenens position. She began treating and seeing patients at My Ob/Gyn in Riverdale, Georgia. After the locum tenens position ended, she continued to seek out her next opportunity to provide superior care to her patients.
As a passionate medical professional, Dr. Leslie Tidwell is committed to staying active within the field of women’s health. She embraces the daily responsibilities of working in a practice, and finds great joy in communicating one-on-one with patients. However, she also desires to become more involved with health reform as it relates to women’s health. There are many topics that are heavily debated in Congress that could impact women and how they receive or proceed with care. Dr. Tidwell hopes to become more vocal in many of these areas, specifically by advocating more vehemently for birth control rights.
In addition, she also sees the challenges that women face when receiving maternity care. She hopes to begin advocating for more affordable maternity care plans so patients can receive the attention and care they need during pregnancy and delivery.
Beyond traditional care in America, Dr. Leslie Tidwell also has a deep-seated interest in going on a mission trip. She hopes to work in either Africa or South America, where technology is less prevalent. She recognizes that in first world countries, technology can come between a doctor and her patients. Rather than treating patients solely with technology, she wishes to use this opportunity to provide more hands on care to the women she works with. She feels that there is something missing from the patient experience if a patient never receives hands-on care from her physician. However, despite her passion for going on a mission trip, Dr. Tidwell plans to hold off on her trip until her children are grown so she can be present to help guide them and act as a meaningful role model in their young lives.
