David Aaron Gray is an entrepreneur and financial professional with an extensive background in the business world. Upon graduating from Cornell University, David spent over 7 years at J.P. Morgan in New York. His recent position as Chief Financial Officer for SleepArt, Inc. began with a private investment in the startup back in March 2012. SleepArt Inc. is the creator of the SleepArt® Body Support Mattress Topper Collection (featuring XcelGel® Technology).
As a former investment banker, and one of SleepArt’s first retail customers, David Aaron Gray quickly recognized the enormous potential behind the company’s truly innovative body support design.
Having served as a customer, investor and officer with the company for close to 18 months, Mr. Gray not only handled the daily responsibilities of a typical CFO but was also instrumental in building out the company’s new suite of products and customer footprint.
When he is not focusing on the business of sleep (or finding a little of his own snooze time) David Aaron Gray, devotes countless hours to various community and charitable organizations.
Upon graduating from Cornell University in 2005, David Aaron Gray spent the next seven years at J.P. Morgan - first in the Private Wealth Division and later in the Investment Banking Division, advising various financial institutions on M&A and capital raising transactions.
David Aaron Gray's lifelong passion for building awareness of the past has motivated much of his activity outside the office. From volunteering at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles to assisting those at the Israel Levin Senior Center in tracing their ancestral roots, Mr. Gray believes it “to be essential for any decent society to embrace, preserve and promote the accurate understanding and representation of the people and events that have shaped our history.”
In this spirit, Mr. Gray recently embarked upon the launch of a motion picture film fund dedicated to bringing to life, some of history’s most inspiring (yet untold / forgotten) stories. His first project, “Operation Auschwitz,” focuses on the remarkable true story of Polish Army Officer Witold Pilecki, the only person to volunteer to be imprisoned at the most notorious of Nazi concentration camps.
David Aaron Gray also uses his participation in athletic competition (having completed several marathon and Ironman triathlon races) as a method to support and raise money for certain charitable causes. One of these organizations, The Boomer Esiason Foundation, is among the largest not-for-profits focused on research into combating the disease cystic fibrosis. In the past two years alone, David Aaron Gray has raised over $20,000 for charitable causes (including The Boomer Esiason Foundation and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center).
