Founded in 1937 by George Pepperdine, a Christian businessman who also founded the Western Auto Supply Company, Pepperdine University offers undergraduate and graduate programs to more than 7,500 students. Affiliated with Churches of Christ, the university consists of five colleges and schools: Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences; the School of Law; the Graziadio School of Business and Management; the Graduate School of Education and Psychology; and the School of Public Policy. Pepperdine, whose 830-acre main campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, California, has six additional campuses in California, as well as international campuses in Heidelberg, Germany; London, United Kingdom; Florence, Italy; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Lausanne, Switzerland; and Shanghai, China.
