Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) helps keep the state green. The agency protects the air, land, and water resources in order to ensure the health of its citizens. Founded by the Arizona Legislature in 1986, the department's four divisions provides a wide variety of services ranging from pollution control to hazardous waste cleanups to laboratory analyses for contaminants. ADEQ also enforces environmental laws, offers education for the public, and works with organizations at a state and national level to develop environmental policy.
