California Eastern Labs

East meets West in California Eastern Laboratories (CEL). The company handles North and Latin American sales and marketing for products made by the Compound Semiconductor Devices Business Division (CSDBD) of Renesas Electronics. Each year CEL ships more than 100 million Renesas devices, directly and through such electronics distributors as Arrow, Avnet, Digi-Key, Future Electronics, and Nu Horizons. At CEL's design facilities in Chicago and Santa Clara, California, engineers from both CEL and Renesas collaborate in developing products that Renesas then manufactures in Japan. The company has sales offices and representatives worldwide. CEL was founded in 1959 and is employee-owned.
