Like all gardens, the Garden State needs water to thrive. Middlesex Water provides water and wastewater services to residential, business, and fire protection customers in New Jersey through its Middlesex, Pinelands, and Bayview systems. It also distributes water in Delaware through its Tidewater system. All told, the utility's subsidiaries have more than 140,000 customers, and serve a retail population of 450,000. The company also is engaged in municipal contract operations and public/private partnerships, and provides line maintenance services. Middlesex Water's nonregulated Utility Service Affiliates (Perth Amboy) unit operates the municipal water and wastewater systems in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
