With Georgia on its mind, Georgia Transmission provides electric transmission services to power producers and distribution utilities. The company primarily transports power for its 39 member distribution cooperatives and their electricity supplier, Oglethorpe Power. Georgia Transmission owns more than 3,000 miles of transmission lines. It jointly owns and plans the state's entire 17,500 miles of transmission lines through the Integrated Transmission System, in collaboration with Georgia Power, MEAG Power and Dalton Utilities. The company also owns nearly 600 substations.
