Feeding America

Currently, one in six Americans is unable to secure adequate nutrition. For the more than 49 million people forced to make choices between food and other basic necessities, the Feeding America network offers relief from the crushing stress of living life on the edge. Hunger is everywhere?down the street, at work, on the playground and at the senior center. And even as the economy shows signs of improvement, the need for our services continues to soar. Through our more than 200 food banks and 61,000 emergency shelters, food pantries and soup kitchens, we touch the lives of Americans in every county in the nation by providing families and individuals with nutritious food, hope and dignity. While we can measure the impact of Feeding America in pounds of food delivered and numbers of clients served, nothing can measure what it means to help everyday people take control of their lives. For these individuals, hope is a hot meal, a bag of groceries, a well-nourished child. Mission: Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
