Founded in 1956 and led for more than 50 years by Joseph R. Loring, an engineer of great talent and integrity, Loring Consulting Engineers is today one of the most respected MEP, fire protection, commissioning, telecommunications and energy services firms in the country. Established as Joseph R. Loring & Associates, the company won its first project for the Schaefer Brewing Company in Brooklyn, NY. Less than six years later, the young firm was tapped by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to be the Electrical Engineer of Record for the world?s tallest and most iconic project?the World Trade Center complex?putting Loring engineers firmly on the map. Some 10,000 projects later, Loring?s history is replete with state-of-the-art services and innovative building systems design for a diversified and high profile portfolio of projects worldwide. Our reputation for responsible engineering stands on the successful delivery of some of the most technically challenging projects, including the Citicorp Center in Manhattan and JKF International Airport Terminal One. Ahead of the green revolution, we brought daylight harvesting to IBM facilities, and were part of an award-winning international design team that created the largest green roof of its time in 1984 for the Australian Parliament House. Through the years, we?ve also made our mark on building design for the modern laboratory with cutting edge and energy efficient HVAC solutions. And in 2016, we received a national award for the achievement of a groundbreaking net zero energy school building in New Jersey. Loring?s story of smart design, technical excellence and commitment continues. We?re now over 150 employees strong, operating from four offices. From researching alternative battery systems and photovoltaics for New York City?s IDEA Initiative to providing millions of square feet of retrocommissioning services, we?re delivering sustainable, high performance/high functioning building systems. Our mission is to bring the right technologies, impeccable quality, and adherence to schedule and budget to projects of every type?standards our founder, Joe Loring, would demand.
