Icera wants to serve up the next generation of wireless devices on ice. The mobile broadband startup company develops wireless processors for use in terminals that transmit data to mobile phones. The fabless semiconductor company touts its devices as offering high performance with low power consumption and low cost; the chips' designs are intended to make them flexible and scalable for a variety of networks. Its IceClear receiver technology cancels the effect of interference from other cells. Icera has design locations in Canada, France, the UK, and the US. In 2011 the company was acquired by NVIDIA for $367 million in cash.
