Schuh Limited

Schuh wants to spread its passion for all things shoe. With about 60 namesake stores scattered about the UK and Ireland, more than 15 locations inside Republic apparel shops, and a retail website, Schuh is the exclusive retailer of the Red or Dead label in the UK, in addition to such other brands as adidas, Nike, Dr. Marten's, and Clarks, as well as its own brands. The company, founded in 1981, is known for its wide range of footwear. In mid-2011 US-based footwear giant Genesco acquired the company for £100 million (about $160 million) and agreed to pay up to £50 million more if certain performance targets were met. The parent also aims to extend Schuh's brands to (and create new designs for) the US market.
