The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is made up of 32 universities and community and technical colleges, including 25 two-year colleges and seven state universities. The system offers more than 3,500 degree programs. It enrolls about 240,000 students per year in credit-based courses, and an additional 150,000 in customized worker training courses. The system was created in 1995 through the merger of the state university system, the community college system, and the technical college system. The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
