The company got its start when Serena, an independent artist and textile designer, met Lily, an accomplished executive-turned-entrepreneur. Lily saw vast potential in Serena?s designs, while Serena knew she?d met a true business visionary. Both were inspired by the idea of bringing something fresh to the design world. Today, Serena?s original textiles continue to anchor Serena & Lily, while a commitment to inspirational living is reflected in all that the brand puts forth, from innovative retail experiences to furniture, fashion, and art. In May 2013, the company opened its first retail location, Serena & Lily Beach Market, in East Hampton, NY. Its second retail location, Serena & Lily Design Shop, opened a year later in San Francisco, CA.
