Not everyone at Stetson University wears a cowboy hat but there is a connection. The school offers undergraduate (60 majors and minors) and graduate degrees through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Music, and College of Law. The university enrolls about 2,200 undergraduate students. Stetson has four campuses located in DeLand (main), Celebration (graduate degrees and continuing education), Tampa (law), and St. Petersburg/Gulfport (law). Florida's first private university, Stetson was founded in 1883 by New York philanthropist Henry A. DeLand. The university's name was changed in 1889 to honor benefactor John B. Stetson, the nationally-known hat manufacturer.
