Located in mountains of central Arizona, Yavapai College bills itself as the friendliest college in the west. It offers about 25 associate degrees and more than 50 certificate programs from about a half-dozen campuses or centers, as well as nearly 80 class sites throughout Yavapai County. Its Sedona Center for Arts & Technology offers digital media arts, digital storytelling, Web design, filmmaking, and general art classes. The college, which boasts about 15,000 students, has programs in such fields as accounting, computer systems and applications, early childhood education, fire science, gunsmithing, and paralegal studies. Classes average about 20 students. Yavapai College was established in 1966.
