Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) provides electricity and natural gas services without having to pull anyone's finger. The company not only provides services in Baltimore, but to all or parts of 10 surrounding central Maryland counties as well in a service area of 2,300 square miles. The company's regulated power transmission and distribution system consists of 24,500 circuit miles of distribution lines, and 1,300 circuit miles of transmission lines, and serves more than 1.2 million customers; its gas system of more than 7,000 miles of gas mains serves 652,600 homes and businesses in an 800 square mile service area. BGE is a subsidiary of Constellation Energy Group.
