Since opening its doors in 2010, UP Education Network has focused on taking the lowest performing schools in Massachusetts and transforming those schools into exceptional learning environments. Our mission is to rapidly transform chronically underperforming district schools into extraordinary schools that sustain high achievement over time. When we re-start a school, we keep the students and school buildings the same, but change the school systems, leadership, talent, and programs in order to achieve dramatically different results. On average, UP schools improve students? math scores by approximately 20 points and students? reading scores by approximately 15 points within three years post re-start. We currently operate five schools in Boston and Lawrence that serve over 2,600 students, 70% of whom are economically disadvantaged and 85% of whom are high needs. Students in our schools cultivate their sharp minds, share their kind hearts, and explore their path and potential in order to succeed on the path to college and pursue their passions. We recently completed a three-year strategic plan that outlines three key priority areas, or ?big bets,? and associated initiatives designed to realize this vision for our students, further improve student outcomes, and ensure our organization is positioned to grow in the future. Mission:?UP Education Network is a school turnaround organization whose mission is to rapidly transform chronically underperforming district schools into extraordinary schools that sustain high achievement over time.
