Lotus Communications does not deal in flowers or cars, unless of course they are mentioned in a song broadcasted on the company's radio stations. Lotus owns and operates about 30 radio stations serving mid- to large-sized markets in Texas, Nevada, Arizona, and California. Its stations are either music or sports-focused, and they consist of 13 Spanish, 13 English, and one Farsi channel. In addition, the company owns three low-power, Spanish-language television stations in Phoenix, Houston, and Tampa. The company also owns 50% of Lotus Entravision Reps, a radio ad sales agency formed with Spanish-language broadcaster Entravision. CEO Howard Kalmenson started the business in 1962.
