Dr. John L. McDonald founded REACH Air Medical Services in 1987. Because of his passion for pediatric care, he recognized the need for emergency air ambulance transport. Ultimately, REACH services expanded to include neonatal and adult transports as well. Headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, REACH provides critical care air and ground transport service to communities throughout California, Oregon, Nevada, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, and Texas. REACH employs hundreds of highly-trained nurses, medics, pilots and aircraft maintenance technicians, who provide service to patients with a fleet of medically-equipped helicopters, airplanes, and ground ambulances. REACH has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services (CAMTS) since 1998. CAMTS is the gold standard for patient care and safety for air medical transport services. REACH is also the proud recipient of the 2015-2016 AAMS Program of the Year Award.
