Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by a bereaved widow and three friends in 1981. A Medicare-certified hospice that is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), Rainbow is one of the oldest and largest non-profit hospice organizations serving patients & families throughout Chicago and nine counties in Illinois: Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Will and parts of Boone. Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care teams provide physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual relief to patients and families living with advanced, complex illness. Our support continues beyond the trajectory of illness; we offer ongoing support for bereaved individuals through our Grief and Loss Services, as well as continuing education for healthcare professionals and members of the community through our LIFE Institute for Learning.
