Notre Dame of Maryland University is primarily a four-year women's college though it also offers a College of Adult Undergraduate Studies (classes for working professionals of both genders), and College of Graduate Studies?with programs offered through four Schools. Undergraduate, graduate, Ph.D., Pharm. D., and certificate programs are offered. NDMU provides premier programs in nursing and health care, education, business, and the humanities. It is the first Catholic college for women in the US to award the four-year baccalaureate degree. The school has some 3,000 students and a student to teacher ratio of about 12:1. The University also offers lifelong learning and additional education opportunities through the English Language Institute, the Renaissance Institute, Camp Notre Dame, and A Child's Place.
